Terms and Condition

1. Introduction

Please read these Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) carefully before using vehicleinfo.app or any associated websites, mobile sites, or mobile applications (collectively referred to as the “Services”). The Services are provided under the brand Vehicleinfo and are operated by AutoIQ Vehicle Info Private Limited, a company incorporated under the Companies Act, 2013, and a subsidiary of Cars24, with its registered office in Gurgaon, Haryana, India - 122001. By accessing or using any Vehicleinfo Services, whether as a guest or registered user ("You," "Your," "Yourself," or "User"), You agree to be bound by these Terms ("Agreement"). If You do not agree, You must discontinue use of the Platform immediately.

These Terms constitute an electronic record under the Information Technology Act, 2000 and applicable rules thereunder and do not require physical or digital signatures.

2. Eligibility And Use Of Platform

You represent that You are legally competent to contract under applicable laws and that all information provided by You while using the Platform is true, complete, and accurate.

You agree not to: Use the Platform for any unlawful, illegal, or unauthorised purpose, misrepresent Your identity or impersonate another person, interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Platform, attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or misuse any part of the Platform.

Vehicleinfo reserves the right to suspend or terminate access to the Platform in case of violation of these Terms.

3. Services Offered

Vehicleinfo offers a comprehensive range of automobile-related services designed to assist users across various vehicle ownership and compliance needs. Through the Platform, users can access multiple informational, facilitative, and utility-based services in one place.

The services offered by Vehicleinfo include:

  • RC Search: Easily access vehicle registration details.

  • Challan Search: Stay updated on traffic fines.

  • Check Resale Value: Get insights into a vehicle’s resale worth.

  • Fuel Prices: Receive real-time updates on fuel prices.

  • Latest Automobile News: Keep up with industry trends.

  • Insurance & Pollution Reminders: Never miss renewal deadlines.

  • Discover New Cars and Bikes: Browse the latest models.

  • Nearby Services: Locate petrol pumps, RTO offices, and EV charging stations.

In addition to the above, Vehicleinfo also features certain services provided by its third-party affiliates, including:

  • Insurance Buying or Renewal: Simplify the insurance process.

  • Sell/Buy Vehicles: List vehicles for sale or find pre-owned vehicles.

  • Car Repair Services: Access certified repair professionals.

  • Car and Bike Accessories: Shop for vehicle accessories.

  • Pay Challan: Conveniently pay traffic fines.

  • Cash Loans

With Vehicleinfo, users can efficiently manage their automobile-related needs through a single platform.

4. Subscriptions And Renewals

At our sole discretion, we may provide free trials. You will be charged the applicable subscription fees (if any) for use of the Products upon installation or upon expiration of a free trial period (if applicable). Unless and until You voluntarily cancel Your membership, it shall automatically renew for recurring subscription periods of the same duration at the expiration of the initial subscription term, whether such subscription is weekly, monthly, quarterly, annually, or otherwise.

In accordance with the policies of the applicable App Marketplace, You may cancel Your membership or automatic renewals at any time through Your account settings with such App Marketplace. Uninstalling the Product shall not result in cancellation of the membership. If You commence a subscription period and subsequently cancel during such period, You shall not be entitled to any refund for the amounts paid for that subscription period. However, You may continue to use the subscribed Products until the end of the applicable subscription period. We reserve the right to revise the applicable subscription fees at any time. Any such changes shall not apply retrospectively.

The validity of these Terms and the validity of any purchase associated with the Products shall be considered separately. Accordingly, termination of any such purchase shall not affect the validity of these Terms, and termination of these Terms may not affect the validity of any such purchase.

5. Payments, Cancellations And Refunds

All payments made through the Vehicleinfo application are processed using secure third-party payment gateways. By using the application, users agree to comply with the applicable payment processor’s terms of service and privacy policy. Vehicleinfo does not store any payment card, banking, or other payment instrument details, and all transactions are processed securely through the payment gateway. Users are responsible for any fees associated with their transactions, including applicable taxes or additional charges imposed by their financial institution.

Users may request cancellation of eligible transactions within 7-8 working days from the date of purchase, provided the relevant services have not been fully utilised or accessed. To initiate a cancellation, users must contact Vehicleinfo customer support and provide valid proof of purchase along with transaction details. Each cancellation request will be reviewed, and users will be informed of the outcome. If a cancellation request is approved, any applicable refund shall be processed in accordance with this policy and may take 7-8 business days to reflect in the user’s account.

Refunds may be issued for transactions that meet specific eligibility criteria, including but not limited to billing errors, technical issues with the service, or unauthorised transactions. Refund requests must be raised within 7-8 working days from the purchase date. Approved refunds may take up to 7-8 business days to be processed and credited back to the original payment method.

Certain services or features may be non-cancellable and non-refundable, particularly where such services have already been accessed or consumed. Any associated fees, including taxes or processing charges, may also be non-refundable. Refunds shall not be issued for issues arising due to user negligence, including incorrect inputs, misuse of the application, or non-compliance with these Terms and Conditions.

Notwithstanding anything stated above, Vehicleinfo reserves the right to issue refunds at its sole discretion, based on the specific facts and circumstances of each case.

6. Challan Service Policy

  1. "Vehicleinfo" provides challan services to individual, entity, or legal person (hereinafter referred to as "You", "Your" or "User") through its website www.vehicleinfo.app and its mobile application namely “VehicleInfo” on iOS and Android platforms (collectively, the “Website”), enabling payment of online challans and settlement of court challans. To deliver these services, Vehicleinfo may engage third-parties such as payment gateways, government databases, external legal professionals, and service vendors for challan resolution (collectively, "Service Network"). You hereby direct and instruct Vehicleinfo to process payment of challan(s) specified by You through its Service Network, as Vehicleinfo deems appropriate, including appearing and representing You before traffic courts where required. In matters requiring Your personal appearance, You hereby authorise Vehicleinfo through its Service Network to appear and represent You before the relevant court or authority, and undertake to execute all documentation necessary to give effect to such representation, including a vakalatnama in favour of the relevant member of the Service Network, as may be required by the relevant court or authority. By availing these services, You agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.

  2. You hereby understand and agree that the the estimated turnaround time (“TAT”) for settlement of challans shall vary depending on the nature of the challan, jurisdiction, court processes, and operational dependencies of the relevant authorities.

    The above timelines are indicative estimates only and may vary depending on court availability, traffic authority processing, government portal functionality, strikes, holidays, Lok Adalat schedules, document discrepancies, or other factors beyond VehicleInfo’s reasonable control

    In case of any failure in the settlement of Your challan, due to reasons directly attributable to Vehicleinfo, the same shall be handled in accordance with the refund process set out under Clause 3.

  3. Any request for refund in relation to challan payments shall be raised by the User by writing to [email protected] and raising a ticket through Vehicleinfo customer support within 30 days from the expiry of the applicable timelines set out under these terms. Upon receipt of such request, Vehicleinfo shall evaluate the claim based on the facts, supporting documents, and inputs from the relevant Service Network or authorities. The decision of Vehicleinfo on such refund request shall be final and binding. Where Vehicleinfo, at its sole discretion, determines that a refund is warranted, such refund shall be processed within a reasonable time. In case of further delays, kindly contact Your bank representative. You understand and agree that Vehicleinfo is not responsible for delays or denials in processing payments at the bank's end. Vehicleinfo shall not be liable or responsible for any delays, failures, errors, interruptions, or discrepancies caused by third-party payment gateways, banking systems, or financial institutions during the processing of payments. The User shall ensure the accuracy and completeness of payment details provided, and any loss, failure, or delay arising from inaccurate, incomplete, or incorrect payment details shall be solely the User’s responsibility.

  4. You agree and recognize the ease provided by Vehicleinfo in settlement of challans, and in consideration of effort made to clear/ settlement of challans, Vehicleinfo shall charge a convenience fee from You, along with applicable taxes. You agree and consent to payment of such convenience fee and You shall not raise any claim or dispute with respect to the convenience fee. Additionally, You agree and consent that in case Your challan is settled at a lower value than Your original challan amount, the balance challan amount shall be retained by Vehicleinfo as a fair compensation and reward for its services and that You shall not raise any claim or dispute with respect to such balance challan amount.

  5. If You have submitted challan to Vehicleinfo for settlement but subsequently chose to have it resolved through an external legal advisor or any third party on Your own, no refund will be issued to You against such challans.

  6. You understand that the time it takes to reflect the final settlement status on the Traffic department portal varies between 30 to 60 working days in case of Traffic court challans and 10 to 15 working days in case of online Traffic challans. Any delay in updation of final settlement status on the traffic department portal shall not be attributable to Vehicleinfo and we shall not be responsible for any such delays. Any dispute regarding non-updation of challan status on the Traffic portal, You can raise a ticket on Vehicleinfo customer support [email protected] within 30 days post the stipulated timelines.

  7. You hereby agree and acknowledge that the timelines provided herein for settlement/payment of court and online challans are only estimates for reference purposes and are subject to court holidays, court strikes and other factors outside the control of Vehicleinfo. While Vehicleinfo through its Service Network may attempt to settle/pay the challans within the stipulated timelines, Vehicleinfo does not guarantee or make any representations that the challans shall be settled/paid within the stipulated timelines.

  8. You understand and agree that the final outcome of settlement of the court challans or any subsequent action ordered by the traffic courts are outside the control and purview of Vehicleinfo and at the sole discretion of the relevant court. You shall not hold Vehicleinfo or any Service Network engaged by Vehicleinfo responsible for any adverse action or order issued by the traffic court on the court challan.

  9. Vehicleinfo, either itself or through its Service Network will provide You with the payment receipts in case of Traffic Court, Lok Adalat and Online challans within the stipulated timelines.

  10. In Lok Adalat matters, challan payment success cannot be guaranteed due to the token-based system and in such cases as an alternative Vehicleinfo through its Service Network shall process payment of challans if the challans are present in virtual court.

  11. Vehicleinfo disclaims any liability or responsibility in case the traffic challans get rejected by the Traffic Department, in such cases any refund of the challan amount shall be subject to Clause 3.

  12. In instances where challan payment receipts are unavailable, You will be provided with a declaration or screenshot from the relevant Government portal as proof of payment status.

  13. You shall be solely responsible for any rejection by the Traffic department in case of any variation related to the documents submitted by You to Vehicleinfo or its Service Network and further resulting in any non- compliance against such pending challans.

  14. In certain cases, retrieval or payment of challans requires OTP validation which is sent to the mobile number registered with the RTO. You agree and consent to sharing of such OTP with Vehicleinfo and its Service Network. In case of any mismatch regarding pending challan information and status on the Website, Vehicleinfo shall not be liable for such mismatch.

  15. Any liability against the incorrect information reflected on the Website and challans payment due to non-updation shall not be attributable to Vehicleinfo or its Service Network.

  16. Vehicleinfo delivers challan payment and settlement services through its Service Network under these terms. The scope of VehicleInfo’s obligation is limited to what is expressly set out herein. Vehicleinfo shall not be liable for any act, omission, delay or default of any Service Network engaged by Vehicleinfo that is beyond VehicleInfo’s reasonable direction.

  17. The Website and the challan payment services are offered on an as-is basis and Vehicleinfo makes no implied warranties, with respect to the services. All implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose or use, are disclaimed. No one is authorized to make any warranty on VehicleInfo’s behalf, and users may not rely on any other statement of warranty.

  18. The Website may contain links, references, or integrations to third-party websites, services, applications, or resources (“Third-Party Links”) for the convenience of Users. Vehicleinfo does not control, endorse, or assume any responsibility for the content, products, services, or practices of such third-party websites or service providers. Accessing or using such Third-Party Links is entirely at the User’s own risk. Vehicleinfo shall not be liable for any loss, damage, or liability arising from the User’s access to, use of, or reliance on such Third-Party Links, including any errors, omissions, interruptions, or inaccuracies therein. The inclusion of Third-Party Links does not imply any affiliation, sponsorship, or endorsement by Vehicleinfo. Users are solely responsible for reviewing and complying with the terms, privacy policies, and guidelines of such third-party websites or services.

  19. You hereby acknowledge and agree that in connection with challan payment services, Vehicleinfo may share Your personal data including without limitation Your traffic challan details, including phone numbers and all required documents, with Service Network engaged by Vehicleinfo for delivery of these services, and You hereby consent to such sharing.

  20. VehicleInfo’s Service Network will not process Your challan if You are required to appear personally in Court. Any failure to settle the challan in such cases shall be sole responsibility of the User.

  21. Challan payment shall not be processed if the challan payment amount exceeds the order amount. In such cases, any refund shall be subject to evaluation and processed, if deemed appropriate, in accordance with Clause 3.

  22. Without prejudice to any other provisions of these terms, Vehicleinfo shall not be liable for any loss, damage, claim or expense arising from or in connection with any of the following:

    • the outcome of any proceeding, order, or direction of any traffic court, Lok Adalat, traffic authority in respect of the challan;

    • any act, omission, delay, error, or default of any Service Network engaged by Vehicleinfo in connection with challan payment services, where such act, omission, delay, error or default results in an outcome outside VehicleInfo’s reasonable control;

    • any delay, outage, unavailability, or error of any government portal, traffic department system, or banking system, or court closures, court or lawyer’s strikes;

    • any rejection, non-processing, or adverse action by traffic department or any governmental authority;

    • any inaccuracy, incompleteness, or misrepresentation in the information or documents provided by You;

    • any delay in updating the final settlement status on the traffic departmental portal; or

    • any indirect, consequential, incidental, special, or punitive loss or damage, including loss of profit, loss of business, loss of goodwill, however arising.

  23. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, and notwithstanding anything contained in these terms, Vehicleinfo's aggregate liability to You in connection with any challan transaction, whether in contract, tort, statute, or otherwise, shall not exceed the convenience fee paid by You for the specific challan transaction giving rise to the claim.

  24. You represent and warrant that all information, documents, challan details, and vehicle particulars submitted by You in connection with the challan payment services are true, accurate, complete, and not misleading, and that You are duly authorised to submit the same. You acknowledge that Vehicleinfo processes Your challan on the basis of the information provided by You without independent verification.

  25. The User agrees to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Vehicleinfo, its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, agents, representatives, and Service Network (collectively, the “Indemnified Parties”) from and against any and all claims, demands, actions, proceedings, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, and expenses, including reasonable attorneys’ fees and legal costs (“Losses”), arising out of or relating to:

    • the User’s access to or use of the Website or the challan services;

    • any breach or violation by the User of these terms, including any representations, warranties, or obligations herein;

    • any fraudulent, unlawful, or unauthorized activity conducted by the User;

    • any information, documents, or content submitted by the User, including any infringement of intellectual property rights, privacy rights, or other third-party rights;

    • any delay or action by any traffic court, government authority, or other third party in disposal of challans, updating status, or issuance of challan payment acknowledgements or receipts;

    • any delay in processing refunds due to technical issues, banking channels, or payment gateway delays; or

    • any act or omission of the User that causes harm, directly or indirectly, to Vehicleinfo, other users, or third parties.

      The User’s obligation to indemnify the Indemnified Parties shall apply irrespective of whether such Losses arise in contract, tort, strict liability, or otherwise, and shall be in addition to any other rights or remedies available to Vehicleinfo under these terms or applicable law.

  26. These terms and all disputes or claims arising out of or in connection with them or the challan payment services (including non-contractual disputes) shall be governed by the laws of India. Subject to the mandatory pre-dispute process under Clause 6, any unresolved dispute shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts at New Delhi, India. Nothing herein limits Vehicleinfo's right to seek urgent interim or injunctive relief in any court of competent jurisdiction.

  27. Vehicleinfo may amend these terms at any time; updated terms will be effective upon posting on the Website or notification to You, whichever is earlier. Your continued use of the services after any amendment constitutes Your acceptance of the revised terms. If You do not agree to any amended terms, You must immediately discontinue use of the services.

    In accordance with the applicable law, Users may raise any complaints or grievances in relation to the challan payment services by writing to [email protected]. Vehicleinfo shall acknowledge receipt of any complaint within forty-eight (48) hours and endeavour to resolve it within one (1) month of receipt.

  28. Vehicleinfo processes Your personal data as a Data Fiduciary under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (“DPDP Act”). The following applies to all personal data collected in connection with the challan payment services:

    • Purpose and Data Collected: Vehicleinfo collects Your name, phone number, vehicle registration details, traffic challan details, identity and vehicle documents, and where applicable, OTP, solely for the purpose of processing and settling Your traffic challans and related services. Vehicleinfo may also use aggregated, anonymized, or de-identified data for internal analysis, platform improvement, and promotional purposes.

    • Sharing with Data Processors: Your personal data may be shared with Service Network, payment gateways, government authorities, or legal representatives engaged by Vehicleinfo solely for fulfilment of the challan processing and payment services. Such Service Network are contractually obligated to process Your data only for this purpose and in accordance with applicable law. Your data is not transferred outside India without Your separate consent.

    • Retention: Your personal data will be retained only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purpose for which it was collected, or as required under applicable law, whichever is longer.

    • Your Rights as Data Principal: Under the DPDP Act, You have the right to:

      • obtain information about Your personal data being processed;

      • seek correction, completion, or erasure of Your personal data;

      • withdraw Your consent at any time, subject to the consequence that Vehicleinfo may be unable to continue providing the challan payment services to You;

      • raise a grievance in accordance with Clause 27; and

      • nominate an individual to exercise Your rights in the event of Your death or incapacity.

    • Withdrawal of Consent: You may withdraw Your consent to processing of Your personal data by writing to [email protected]. Withdrawal of consent will not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out prior to withdrawal. Upon withdrawal, Vehicleinfo will cease processing Your data for new transactions but may retain data already collected to the extent required by law.

7. User Obligations

You agree to use the Platform in compliance with applicable laws, maintain confidentiality of account credentials, provide accurate and lawful information. You shall be solely responsible for any consequences arising from incorrect information, misuse of the Platform, or violation of these Terms.

8. Intellectual Property

All intellectual property rights in the Platform, including content, software, trademarks, logos, and design elements, are owned by or licensed to Vehicleinfo. No right or license is granted to You except for limited use of the Platform in accordance with these Terms.

You shall not reproduce, distribute, modify, or exploit any content without prior written permission.

9. Data Collection, Use, Disclosure And Security

Vehicleinfo may collect non-personal identification information about users whenever they interact with the application. Such non-personal information may include, without limitation, browser type, device type, operating system, internet service provider, and other technical information relating to a user’s means of connection to the application.

Vehicleinfo uses collected information solely to improve user experience and service delivery, including to personalise user experience, operate, maintain, improve, and develop its services, and to communicate with users through emails, push notifications, service-related messages (such as account verification, order confirmations, feature updates, technical notices, and security alerts). Personal and Non-personal information may also be used for internal analytics, market research, and promotional purposes, including recommending relevant applications or services.

Vehicleinfo may disclose personal information and non- personal information to its affiliates, subsidiary companies, group entities, or trusted third parties, subject to user consent and in accordance with applicable laws. Such entities shall comply with this policy and relevant legal requirements. Vehicleinfo ensures that personal information and non-personal information are handled distinctly. Information collected is temporarily stored on Vehicleinfo’s servers and is collected when users interact with or use the application.

Vehicleinfo offers features that allow users to upload documents and manually input data through the application. By uploading documents or providing data, users expressly consent to Vehicleinfo storing such information on its backend servers for the purpose of providing access, personalised recommendations, solutions, and services. Vehicleinfo shall maintain the confidentiality of such documents and user-input data under reasonable security controls and shall not share the same with any third party without user consent, except with its affiliates, subsidiaries, group companies, or partners for operational, service-related, or lawful purposes.

Vehicleinfo adopts appropriate technical, administrative, and security measures to safeguard user information against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction, including protection of personal information, credentials, transaction data, and information stored on the application. The application follows industry-recognised security standards, including PCI vulnerability standards, to provide a secure environment for users.

9.1. FASTag & Related Financial Information

Vehicleinfo may collect, process, and store data related to FASTag services and associated financial details where users avail FASTag-related services through the Platform. Such data may include, without limitation:

  • FASTag ID

  • Linked bank details

  • FASTag balance

  • Recharge history

  • FASTag usage data

Such information shall be collected and processed solely for the purpose of enabling FASTag recharge services and facilitating vehicle-related financial transactions through the Platform.

Refund Policy: If a FASTag payment or recharge fails, the amount will be refunded within 7 working days. Once a payment is successfully processed, it will be settled in FASTag instantly. However, due to potential delays from the service provider, it may take up to 24 hours to reflect. Once a payment is completed, it cannot be canceled.

9.2. Car Service History Report Terms
  • Settlement Time (TAT): The Car Service History Report will be delivered within 48 working hours after the successful completion of the order.

  • Delivery Method: Once the report is generated, it will be shared with the user via WhatsApp in PDF format. Users can also view and download the report from the “My Orders” section within the platform (App or Web).

  • Refund Policy: Please note that no refunds are available for this service once the user has successfully purchased the Car Service History Report.

10. Third-Party Services And Links

The Platform may contain links or access points to third-party websites or services. Vehicleinfo does not control and is not responsible for the content, policies, or practices of such third parties. Your engagement with third-party services is at Your own risk.

11. Third-party Loan Facilitator

By accessing the loan-related entry points available on the Vehicleinfo platform, users acknowledge and agree that they will be redirected to a third-party loan facilitator for the purpose of completing the loan application process. Vehicleinfo does not collect, store, or process any financial or loan-related data in connection with such applications. All interactions, data sharing, and transactions undertaken on the third-party platform shall be governed by the privacy policy and terms of the respective third-party facilitator, which users are encouraged to review prior to proceeding.

12. Disclaimer Of Warranties

The Platform and services are provided on an “as-is” and “as-available” basis. Vehicleinfo disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or uninterrupted availability.

13. Termination

Vehicleinfo may suspend or terminate Your access to the Platform at its sole discretion, without prior notice, for violation of these Terms or applicable laws.

14. Assignment

Vehicleinfo may assign or transfer its rights and obligations under these Terms to any affiliate or group entity without prior notice. Users may not assign their rights without prior written consent.

15. Governing Law And Dispute Resolution

These Terms shall be governed by the laws of India. Any disputes shall be resolved through arbitration in accordance with the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996. The seat and venue of arbitration shall be New Delhi and proceedings shall be conducted in English.

Subject to arbitration, courts at New Delhi shall have exclusive jurisdiction.

16. Severability And Waiver

If any provision of these Terms is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain valid. Failure to enforce any right shall not constitute a waiver.

17. Modification Of Terms

Vehicleinfo, operated by AutoIQ Vehicle Info Private Limited, a subsidiary of Cars24, reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Platform after such modification constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

18. Contact Us/Questions/Grievance Redressal
